TERMS & CONDITIONS
- If your pet has any medical problems (seizures, arthritis, collapsing trachea, etc), please make us aware of them so that we can take the necessary steps to ensure your pet's comfort. Sometimes grooming can expose a pre-existing condition. We cannot diagnose such a condition, but may advise you to seek veterinary attention.
- If your pet has fleas, we will administer a flea bath. We will notify you if possible. The charge for this service is £15 in addition to the groom price, This cost covers the shampoo, time, and cleaning necessary to ensure that no fleas are active in the salon. The treatment will kill the fleas on your pet but after leaving our salon your pet will not be protected from any fleas that may be present in your home or pet area.
- We reserve the right to refuse to groom your pet if we feel that they may pose a threat to our employees or other pets in our care. This includes aggression problems, health problems and parasite problems. In the event that your dog cannot be groomed safely without danger to the groomer/employees/or others, The Laundromutt will use muzzles, collars, slings, straps, etc. Grooming services may be stopped mid-groom if necessary for the safety of the dog or groomer. Grooming fees may still be applied.
- On completion of the groom, we reserve the right to adjust the pricing in line with the work involved and time taken. Groom costs can go down as well as up and any increase in fixed price will be advised pre-groom.
- We are proud of our customer service and will groom your dog according to your instructions and make every effort to meet your expectations. However it must be made clear that it may sometimes be difficult to achieve the visual effect an owner is looking for, especially on the first groom, and that no guarantee can be made in this regard. This is due to the dog’s pre-groom condition, plus the nature of its coat, behaviour and bone structure having a major bearing on the finished result. Records are kept in order to track progress of the desired result and to create a finished style.
- If you must cancel your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice. We understand that schedules sometimes change, but repeat cancellations may result in a cancellation fee up to 50% of the grooming charge and the inability to book future appointments. Cancellations made within 24 hours or failing to show up for your appointment will require the missed appointment to be paid in full before any future bookings will be accepted.. A non-refundable deposit may also be applied to any future bookings following repeat late cancellations or no shows.
- Although accidents are very rare, there is always a risk when dealing with pets. We will inform you immediately of any incident that occurs or any condition that we notice. Your pet's safety and comfort is our number one priority. By signing below, you indicate that you understand and agree to our terms of service; that you understand and agree to release and hold harmless The Laundromutt, its owners, employees and affiliates from and against any and all liabilities, expenses, damages, and costs (including legal fees) resulting from any service provided or injury (including death) to your pet(s) while in our care or afterward. You further authorise The Laundromutt to transport your pet to a veterinarian in the event of an emergency, and agree that any resulting veterinary bills will be your sole responsibility.
DE-MATTING POLICY
- We groom humanely at The Laundromutt and abide by the Animal Welfare Act.
- We only de-matt small areas if we see that your pet has minor mats to detangle and your dog is tolerant of the process. Heavy matting or matting to the skin will require shaving in that area. If we are unable to contact you this may be done without your permission. We may suggest that your dog attends more regularly to prevent the problem from reccurring. Sores, bruising, skin conditions and parasites can develop underneath heavy matting. Some of these issues may require veterinary care if your pet is heavily matted. We will not be liable for any veterinary treatment required for issues caused by heavy matting.
- Extensive de-matting is a painful and potentially harmful and traumatic experience for your pet and is not in line with our ethical and humane practise. In cases of heavy matting identified on arrival we reserve the right to refuse to groom your pet on welfare grounds. If extensive matting becomes apparent during the grooming process the groom may be stopped mid-groom if your pet becomes too distressed. Grooming fees may still be applied.
